Maître Charness is an experienced litigator and is a member of both the Québec and Ontario Bars. He enjoys handling complex litigation matters and has pleaded before various levels of courts in Québec and Ontario. Maître Charness manages several of the firm’s largest clients, ensuring that they receive strategic and effective representation. He acts as a trusted legal advisor to senior executives of some the largest companies in the world.
Maître Charness is proud to be the fourth-generation Charness lawyer in the firm. Maître Charness contributed to his family’s run business early on by interning at the firm while still a student and completed his stage with the firm before joining as a lawyer. His dedication and hard work, recognized by his peers and clients led to him being elevated to partner in 2025.

Maître Charness is skilled in Civil Procedure, and he shares his expertise and knowledge by teaching Civil Procedure as a professor at the University of Ottawa faculty of Law.
